For trekkers used to long passages, there are routes that allow them to reach the summit of Mount Roraima, camp in Lençóis Maranhenses, attain the best views from the peaks of Serra dos Órgãos and cross islands, in the middle of the Atlantic Forest, to reach pristine beaches, like some that are found on Ilhabela and Ilha Grande. In the heart of Brazil, the Chapada Diamantina, Chapada dos Veadeiros and Chapada dos Guimarães, in addition to Chapada das Mesas, located further north, showcase the beauty and diversity of Brazilian fauna and ora, with trails for all levels of di culty. To reward you for the e ort: canyons, waterfalls and pools of translucent deep waters. In the Southeast Region, destinations in the Serra da Mantiqueira such as Campos do Jordão, Queluz and Ibitipoca State Park, reveal delicious treats prepared by small rural producers in itineraries developed with a focus on sampling the regional avors. For those looking to rest their legs between trails, a good option is to travel stretches of the Royal Road by car, passing through the historical cities of Minas Gerais until driving down the mountain range to Paraty. From there, just follow the Rio-Santos road and stop for a swim at the beaches of São Paulo. If you’re looking to enjoy the cold weather at your own pace and see the vineyards of South Brazil, the Romantic Route and the Serra do Rio do Rastro are especially enchanting. Those who want more adventure can take a 4x4 and cross the Pantanal on the Transpantaneira highway, explore Jalapão or delight in the beaches of Northeast Brazil on the Route of Emotions. And to reach the impressive set of ancient Brazilian cave paintings, Jaú National Park, in Amazonas, and the parks of Sete Cidades and Serra da Capivara, in Piauí, are home to prehistoric treasures.
